HOW CAN THERAPY HELP?

You may be affected by past experiences, overwhelmed by anxiety or depression, or struggling with self-esteem. Perhaps you simply feel stuck. Therapy can help you understand your experience and find a clearer way forward.

I work integratively, which means I don't believe one approach works for everyone. I draw on person-centred therapy, cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), ACT, DBT & somatic approaches, adapting the way we work according to you and what you need.

Sometimes that means understanding experiences from the past and the impact they continue to have. Sometimes it's about recognising patterns in the present, developing different ways of responding, or making practical changes in your life.

The aim isn't simply to understand why you feel the way you do, but to help you work through what's getting in the way and create meaningful, lasting change.

HOW CAN EMDR HELP?

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) is a psychological therapy originally developed to help people process traumatic and distressing experiences.

Sometimes difficult experiences can continue to affect us long after the event itself has passed. Memories, emotions, physical sensations or beliefs about ourselves can become triggered in the present, even when we know rationally that the danger has gone.

EMDR uses bilateral stimulation — commonly guided eye movements — alongside a structured therapeutic process to help the brain process these experiences differently.

The aim isn't to erase memories or make you forget what happened. Instead, EMDR can help reduce the emotional intensity attached to a memory so that it feels more like something that happened in the past, rather than something you continue to experience in the present.

EMDR is widely used for trauma and PTSD but can be used to help with many other issues such as addiction, anxiety and chronic pain.

About

A SUPPORTIVE SPACE FOR REAL CHANGE

Therapy isn't just about talking. It's about understanding what's happening, exploring new perspectives and finding practical ways forward.

I'm warm and supportive, but I'm also fairly direct. I won't simply sit silently and nod for an hour. I'll listen, ask questions, offer different perspectives and, when I think it could be helpful, challenge you.

There's also room for appropriate humour. Therapy can involve difficult subjects, but it doesn't have to feel heavy all of the time.

Most importantly, we'll work together at a pace that feels right for you, focusing on what matters most and helping you develop greater understanding, confidence and resilience.

The past matters, but it doesn't have to define your future.
